Holidays.

Holiday wallpaper is the most searched wallpaper category on earth, and the most disposable. That is fine: these designs are meant to be installed in the last week of November and removed in the first week of January.

The seasonal ones that survive the year tend to be the ones with a mechanical joke — a gift whose ribbon is the fold, a pumpkin whose grin sits on the crease. The rest are simply warm and well lit.

All of them are drawn to keep the clock readable, which is the one thing a holiday wallpaper usually gets wrong.
