Why it works on the fold
A folding silk fan opened across both panels, its ribs converging on the crease. A fan is the one object whose whole nature is a fold, which is why the idea lands without explanation — the phone is doing what the fan does. Dark and cool, with the pale cranes carrying all the light, so it stays quiet behind icons.
Two screens, one artwork
Both sizes are cropped from the same artwork — a wide cut for the unfolded inner screen, a tall one for the cover — so the phone looks consistent open or closed. Downloading only one? Take the size for the screen you look at most.
